Hello, I am Dr. Sean Robertson and I work exclusively as an online Couples Counselor.
I know relationships can be hard, even though they’re also one of the most fulfilling parts of our life. In my online couples counseling, I create an empathic space for learning and deep connection, while also being diligent about ensuring that clients implement the tools. I have a doctoral degree in behavioral psychology. So my methods are based on both behavioral psychology and neuropsychology. I also oftentimes bring in attachment psychology and the five love languages to my work with couples.
If you have done the RDP Couples Communication Course, we will work on fine tuning the skills taught in the course and delve into challenging areas. Working together, we will create new patterns that are more affirming of your wants and needs. If you have never taken the course, I will teach you the skills in person before we head into difficult areas.

What is behavioral psychology?
Behavioral psychology helps us understand how situations in our relationship can activate negative beliefs, emotions, and coping behaviors. We also learn that we can shape our behaviors to be more aligned with our needs.
What is neuropsychology?
Neuropsychology is built on the premise that our minds have neural pathways that contribute to our habitual behaviors and that we can rewire these neural pathways, a concept called neuroplasticity.
What is attachment psychology and the 5 love languages?
Due to early childhood experiences, we are oftentimes hardwired in different ways. These differences can have big impacts on how we behave in our romantic relationships as adults. I will help you identify your specific “attachment styles” and how to work with them in your relationship.
The five love languages represent different types of intimacy needs. Each person has their own specific forms of intimacy that they desire.
